Murder Conviction Upheld

The North Carolina Appeals Court has upheld the first degree murder conviction of a Craven County man. Sheldon Lee Sutton was found guilty three years ago for the July 1998 stabbings of a New Bern couple as they walked through Greenwood Cemetery. Sutton was sentenced to life without parole. Victim Elvis Gallagher died and his wife survived after her throat was cut.
