A new chapter is about to written for the Kinston Regional Jetport beginning on April 1. On that day, daily non-stop flights begin between Kinston and Atlanta. Wednesday night, hundreds of city, county, and business leaders attended a welcoming party for the arrival of Delta connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines. The celebration was hosted by the Lenoir Committee of 100. The committee is one of several groups that spearheaded the effort to bring the airline to the jetport. The first flight out of the Kinston Regional Jetport takes off at 6:30 a.m. on April 1.
