They were snatched out of their bedroom window and their mother says it's been over a month since she's seen them.
Lawmen in Carteret County are searching for two boys that went missing from their Newport home December 22. Andrea Vaughan says it all happened in a matter of minutes. Vaughan says the boys were in their room getting ready for bed and ten minutes later they were gone.
Now, Carteret County lawmen are searching for Mason Colby Pittman and Tanner Holden Pittman of Newport. Authorities say they believe the boys' father, Ronald Pittman who recently separated from the boys' mother, took the boys out of their bedroom window.
Detectives say the father has been traced to Germany on a business trip, but isn't saying where the children are. Authorities also say he indicated he does not have them, but the boys are somewhere safe. Officials say they will continue to investigate with the help of multiple agencies, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
