In Less Than an Hour, Two Businesses Held Up

Two Pitt County businesses were robbed last night. A masked armed robber held up Peaden's Grill and Stokes Mart within an hour's time. Now, Pitt County lawmen are searching for the man responsible.

The owner of Peaden's Grill on Highway 33 in Belvoir says just before 9 p.m. Monday night, a masked man armed with a shotgun held up his employee. The robber was given money, left, and authorities believe the same man then headed to the next target, Stokes Mart on Highway 903 in Stokes.

Only 40 minutes later a man fitting the same description held up the convenience store. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
