A family is grieving in Nash County as a fire claims the life of a child there.
Authorities say a four-year-old died, a nine-year-old was seriously burned, and five other people escaped from a fire at a Railroad Street Extension home in Battleboro.
The fire broke out around 5:30 Monday morning. Fire officials believe the fire is accidental but will continue to investigate.
