Smoking on the campus of East Carolina University may get more difficult. Right now, smokers can still light up as long as they're outside all academic buildings. But late last year the ECU Faculty Senate passed a resolution seeking to ban smoking at certain areas like building entrances, outside stairwells, and enclosed areas outside of classrooms. The request to ban smoking will be looked at by a task force being put together by ECU Chancellor Steve Ballard.
