Nash County lawmen say a Nashville woman who tried to elude capture during a vehicle chase Thursday did something that has animal lovers in the county fuming. Authorities say 28-year Rose Marie Augerlavoie threw a dog out of her vehicle's window minutes before she crashed. Augerlavoie's live-in boyfriend reported his pick-up truck stolen before it was spotted by Nash County sheriff's deputies. They chased Augerlavoie for about 15 miles into Castalia before they were able to capture her. The dog, a Jack Russell Terrier, survived unharmed. Augerlavoie is charged with several misdemeanors including driving violations, possession of drug paraphernalia, and animal cruelty.
