One Person Shot During Home Invasion

New Bern Police say they're searching for four men Tuesday after a dinner-hour break-in on Monday night.

Police say the break-in happened at the Beech Grove Mobile Home Park on Washington Post Rd. in New Bern around 6:15 p.m. Monday. One person was shot and another assaulted, police say. The victims are expected to survive their injuries.

Police have not released names of suspects, saying the men had their faces covered during the crime.

Also Monday, New Bern Police say two men tried to break in to an apartment in Kensington Park Apartments and assaulted a person with a baseball bat.

New Bern Police say, so far, there's no indication the two crimes are related.

Believe you me, if a hostile tries to enter my home they're going to find a rude surprise waiting for them. I wish we'd hear more about the home invaders that come in and actually get killed. I totally agree with you, Mike, that'd probably serve as a good deterrent to these jerks who think they can just do anything they want to people and their possessions.

Too bad the person shot was not one of the perpetrators. I believe home invasions would not be so prevalent as they are today if more of the injured were the invaders. Wake up people! NC law reflects the man's castle doctrine which allows deadly force to prevent a hostile from entering your home!
