North Carolina forestry officials in Kinston say that the strong winds Tuesday tossed some of their fire fighting aircraft, severely damaging one very important plane. Officials say one of three planes that drops foam or fire retardant on wildfires was blown into a barbwire fence and a propane tank. Amazingly the tank didn't explode. The station in Kinston, is the only station that has planes to put out fires in eastern Carolina and they say this happened at the worst possible time. Fire season started in mid February and runs until June. An insurance agent is coming to look at the damage Wednesday, and they hope to get their planes back in the air. Until then, they strongly urge you not to burn outdoors.
