It's the outcome his family was hoping for. A missing 76-year-old Pitt County man was found in Virginia, and he's okay.
Family members tell WITN-7 that Earl Kirby, who suffers from dementia, was found by Virginia Beach Police in his vehicle, parked on Independence Boulevard. Kirby went missing Tuesday after he was spotted leaving Harkers Island. His family says Kirby was apparently trying to drive to visit his girlfriend, who is hospitalized in Virginia.
