A man who was a jailer, a sergeant, at the Pitt County Detention Center for nearly nine years was arrested this week. Thirty-nine-year old Robert Lee May is accused of taking indecent liberties with a teenaged girl. Lawmen say May was suspended from his position in November and left the force in December. May was jailed and released under a $25,000 secured bond.
