Workers at R.J. Reynolds cigarette factories in Forsyth County began voting on union representation Thursday.
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers wants to represent about 2,000 workers. Results won't be known until Friday because of the late shift.
Reynolds is the only major cigarette-maker that does not have a unionized work force.
