Dozens of Edgecombe County residents are now victims of identity theft and fraud after authorities say their main suspect stole mail right out of their mailboxes.
Sheriff James Knight says an investigation that began in November turned into the biggest case of identity theft and fraud in the county's history.
Rocky Mount resident Troy Vaughn Davis has been arrested and charged with 130 counts of stealing and using victim's information to get credit cards and make purchases totaling over $100,000.
Davis is being held at the Edgecombe County Detention Center. More arrests are also expected.
