Authorities Say Mother Changes Her Mind About Killing Her Children

A Craven County mother is in jail for disturbing child abuse charges. The sheriff's department says 33-year-old Gale Hodge's took her four- and six-year-old children to the Neuse River with intentions of drowning them, but changed her mind.

Lawmen say Hodges showed deputies the kids footprints where they walked into the river, but she then explained, she decided to let the kids go back home. The children have been returned to the custody of their grandmother.
