A crash between an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck killed one man Thursday afternoon in Onslow County. The accident happened West of Jacksonville, on Highway 53 in the Southwest community. It was raining as a large truck, pulling an empty flatbed trailer collided with the pickup. The crash shoved the small truck off the road onto its side in the ditch. Rescue crews were able to free the driver, but could not revive him at the scene. State troopers are still investigating the accident.
