Chief Palombo's Son In Rehab

The son of New Bern police chief Frank Palombo was given a reduced sentence after he went through a drug rehabilitation program.

Christopher Palombo was originally given four jail sentences all longer than eight months. He pleaded guilty to numerous drug charges on December 13th in Craven County superior court.

District Attorney Scott Thomas says chief Palombo's son is on intensive probation and if he violates that probation, it's likely that he'll serve the suspended sentences.

The rehab facility is in Florida where his mother lives.

Your Police Chief is an upstanding, honorable man. He would not allow for his son to be given "special" treatment. I'm sure that Chris' parents have been able to provide him with the kind of support and help that he needs right now. There are many people all over who get away with this kind of behavior and worse and never see the inside of a jail cell. As parents we have to make the tough choices for our kids and I can assure you that this situation has broken the hearts of his parents and brother. My prayers and thoughts go to Chief Palombo, Chris and the rest of their family while they go through this difficult time in Chris' life.

I hope he does well.. I didn't know him too well, I just met him not too long ago. I never thought he would be in any trouble. But, I hope that he does well with rehab, and I hope that he can return a changed person, because underneath all these problems, he has to be a good guy.

hmm, all the drugs he had and intensive probation. i wonder if all the people that go through the courts in this area get the same treatment. I doubt it. If this guy wasnt the police chief's son he would be sent up the creek. I know for a fact there are people sittin in prison right now or have been and are now labeled x-cons for less. welcome to socially biased and corrupt craven county. where its who you know and what you got. disgusting. P.S. I bet the rehab was outpatient.
