What a difference a few days has made for Carteret County’s beaches.
The effort to put more sand on the oceanfront from Fort Macon to Pine Knoll Shores looked like it would come up short last week because sand being pumped was too fine.
Officials now say the dredge is sending better quality material. The project will still come up short of its goal however to nourish most of the East End of Bogue Banks.
