Greene Central Band In Step In Tampa

One high school band from Eastern Carolina is bringing in the New Year with style, in front of a national audience.

The Greene Central High School Marching Band will perform during today's half-time program at the Outback Bowl in Tampa.

The game is being broadcast on ESPN.

The band is one of several in Tampa for the bowl game. All the bands competed in a field show competition,. Greene Central strutting away as the Grand Champion, 1st place drum major and also first place in their band category.

Because of the win, Greene Central got to perform during the pre-game show.

Today's bowl appearance is a first for Greene Central's band.

    i think that was the best year ever when we cam out on top..we was so shocked everybody cryed ther eyes out..im so glad that we prove alot of ppl wrong..now marching rams lets keep this legacy alive..n do it for the man we all love the most..mr griffin :(..we love yhu man..n miss u alot.signed (the one that never let u down)

    I Remember The Day We Were Siting There Waiting on The Man To Speak Who Won The National Grand Champions. And When He Said and the winner is "GREENE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL" I didn't no what to do cry b happy or nothing. we were the smallest band there but we made the most noise and that how it should be

    I am a memeber of the band..N i Really enjoyed everymin.I spent with the band last year...Special thanks to every one that made the gchs band wat it is today!

    My sister is in the marching band and I am still so proud of them because I watched how hard they worked on that show

    About 25 years ago I believe I remember the Greene Central band in the Macy's Day Parade...they have a long history success with their band program
