East Carolina University is minus one fraternity.
Sigma Nu on 11th Street in Greenville still faces $1,700 in fines that accrued after a city ordinance went into effect January 1, requiring fire alarm systems for all fraternity and sorority houses.
In the weeks following the deadline for compliance, Sigma Nu remained the only one of ECU's 18 officially recognized fraternities and sororities that didn't abide by the city ordinance.
