Proposed Split Calendar Has Many Parents Hot Under The Collar

It's only 12 days, but to some parents that's an eternity. Over 20 parents showed up to a special school board meeting Tuesday night to voice their concerns before a new school calendar is adopted in Beaufort County. The new calendar could mean high school students and elementary students would start and end school on different dates, 12 days apart, if the board of education adopts a split calendar. Superintendent Jeffrey Moss presented what he says is the most viable option to parents. The two options the school board will vote on are a traditional calendar or a split calendar. The board will vote February 28.
