Lenoir Memorial Hospital has a new computer system that stores important radiology images on disc instead of film. The new system is called picture archiving and communication system, or PACS for short. The fully integrated software system produces two and three dimensional images of your x-ray, MRI, and cat scans. Doctors can manipulate and rotate these images on their screens giving a much quicker diagnosis. Pitt County Memorial Hospital also has a fully integrated PACS system.
