Road Collapses

A section of Seagull Drive in South Nags Head, near milepost twenty, finally fell to the surf this weekend after being battered by high winds and surf. Access to two rental cottages has now been blocked, with the stretch of crumbled asphalt. Seagull was damaged during Hurricane Isabel, and again wounded with the March Noreaster. Crews Monday morning were clearing adjacent streets of sand and debris.
