Monday marked the fifth anniversary of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. And one man from eastern Carolina is sharing his story of survival.
Taking several pills and having no energy are just some side effects of HIV and AIDS and a way of life for David Aldridge of Greenville. You could call him a double survivor. Aldridge tested positive for HIV in 2001, then learned in 2003 he had cancer.
Nowadays David Aldridge volunteers his time encouraging HIV/AIDS patients and educating the public about the disease.
