New Building for Outer Banks

The town of Nags Head broke ground on a new public safety station this week. Located in South Nags Head, the 7000 square foot, four bay building will hold an engine company, ocean rescue and police presence, and aesthetically will conform to the design standards of the neighborhood. Fire officials say the site on Old Oregon Inlet Road will provide better response to the southern portion of Nags Head, including Whalebone Junction. Construction should be completed by early fall.
