ECU Alum Coming Home For Unity

The organizers of the 2008 Community Unity Breakfast in Greenville have announced that an ECU alumni with a distinguished career in education will be the keynote speaker.

Dr. Dudley E. Flood currently serves on the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina, among many other committees. Dr. Flood lives in Raleigh.

During Dr. Flood's 21 years of serving the Department of Public Instruction in North Carolina, he earned promotions to Associate State Superintendent. Flood has been a Visiting Professor at Meredith College and at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He currently teaches in the Principals Executive Program at the University of North Carolina. Flood has received more than 300 awards for civic service, including the Order of the Longleaf Pine award three different times.

Flood received his master's degree in educational administration from East Carolina University. On January 21, he'll return to Greenville to speak at the 2008 Community Unity Breakfast. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Murphy Center at East Carolina University.
