The N.C. Highway Patrol is running Operation Drive To Live in some parts of Eastern Carolina during the week of December 10 - 14. Operation Drive To Live is a program to reduce the number of teenaged related traffic accidents.
The operation will be conducted during in the following counties; Wake, Wayne, Nash, Wilson, Johnston, Durham, Franklin, Chatham, Lee and Harnett.
Traffic collisions are the leading cause of teenage deaths in North Carolina and our nation. Since 2004, 526 teenagers have been killed on the state's highways. Speed is the leading cause of those collisions.
