A Big Thank You to a Female Soldier Serving Overseas

A fourth and fifth grade class at one Edgecombe County Elementary school got a special visit from someone they've been writing to for the last year. Major Anita Massey with the North Carolina National Guard has just come back after spending over a year in Iraq.

While she was there, Lynn Edwards' fourth grade class from this year as well as last year at Phillips Elementary School sent letters and care packages to Massey while serving in Iraq. The students exchanged gifts and ate a welcome home cake.
