OLF Fight Back in Court

The fight over a proposed Navy landing field in eastern Carolina headed back to the courtroom Tuesday. The Navy asked the three-judge appeals panel in Richmond, Virginia, to allow the military to start building the practice landing field. The Navy argued that any delay would hurt national security. The panel was asked to lift a Raleigh judge's order that stops the Navy from proceeding, saying allowing the project to go ahead before the dispute is settled would cause irreparable harm to the environment. No immediate decision was handed down.
