Random Drug Testing Proposal For D.H. Conley Student Athletes

Some school districts in eastern Carolina have random drug testing policies for student athletes, now one school in Pitt County may soon join the list.

The principal at D.H. Conley outlined a proposal for the school board Monday night for such a policy at his school.

An outside agency would administer the tests, which would likely happen at the beginning of the sports season. Violations could result in suspensions or repeat offenders could be kicked off.

The school board will vote on the policy December 17th.

I thought this was already in place at Conley. I also don't think it should be at the beginning of the sports season, but through out the whole season.

i think this is a very good idea maybe it will help to keep more kids off of drugs and think twice before they do it.i think they should do more.

I attend Washington High School, and we have random drug testing. I think that it is a good policy to have in place, if you are willing to be a part of a team you should abide by all polices in affect. So this will help to hold the athaletes accountable.
