They've been a menace for two years. That's what neighbors in one Craven County neighborhood are saying after two dogs got loose and attacked several people.
Two rottweilers led New Bern Police and animal control on a chase Thursday afternoon. Lawmen say when they arrived on the scene, the animals were attacking bystanders and then officers. The chase then went through the parking lots of several shopping centers where the dogs were eventually shot and killed.
The owner of the dogs says she felt bad that people were scared by her dogs. She is required to appear in court February 10 to face misdemeanor charges.
