The father of the Lenoir County boy who died in a crash with a school bus last week is showing signs of improvement. A Pitt County Memorial Hospital spokesperson said Monday that Thomas Suggs, Sr. has been upgraded to serious condition. Suggs had been in critical condition since the crash that killed his son on Monday, November 26.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash between Suggs' SUV and a school bus on Wheat Swamp Rd. in Lenoir County. The impact between the SUV and school bus was powerful enough that the school bus rolled over. 11-year-old T.J. Suggs died in the crash. No one on the bus was seriously hurt.
