Fallen Hero Remembered in Greenville Friday

A fallen North Carolina National Guardsman from Pitt County was honored Friday.

Friends, family, and co-workers of Captain Chris Cash dedicated a "peace garden" in his memory at the ViQuest Center in Greenville. Cash worked at ViQuest before he was called to duty in Iraq last year, where he was killed by insurgents who attacked his vehicle in June.

Cash's wife, Dawn, is honored ViQuest wanted to remember her husband in this way.

Cash served for years in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division before joining the National Guard.
