Brush Fire Controlled On Windy Day

A brush fire could have been much worse with Sunday's windy conditions, but officials got it under control quickly. A downed power line Sunday morning sparked a fire in a wooded area off Highway 33 East. Emergency response officials tell WITN that just before 7 a.m. they received reports of flames coming out of a wooded area on Clay Bottom School Road near Aurora. Blounts Creek First Responders got to the scene quickly and extinguished the fire without incident.
