A statement from the Coast Guard says crews from the state at
Emerald Isle rescued four people this morning from a 25-foot
bayliner that ran aground in New River Inlet.

Initially, a tow boat attempted to refloat the vessel but could
not do it. Coast Guard Sector North Carolina was notified at 6:30
a.m., and Station Emerald Isle launched shortly thereafter. The
rescued boaters were taken to New River Marina.

Coast Guard Station Little Creek, Va., rescued two people from
an 18-foot pleasure craft after their vessel became disabled in the
vicinity of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

Two Coast Guard boats from the Yorktown, Va., training center
located two vessels that ran aground in Wormley Creek near the York
River Saturday evening. In addition, a 45-foot pleasure craft II
with three people on board also ran aground.

There were no injuries.
