Keeping College Campuses Safe

Nearly forty representatives from North Carolina's colleges, universities, and law enforcement agencies met at ECU's Murphy Center Thursday to study new technologies that could soon help students in an emergency on campus.

Some of that technology included cell phones with Global positioning satellite tracking systems and campus emergency stations that can be activated by a remote control on your key chain.

Officials say another goal of the meeting was for all participants to share as many ideas about campus safety as possible.
