Teen Released To Relatives Custody

The 14-year-old Columbia High School student charged with second-degree murder in the death of her newborn twins went before a Tyrrell County judge Thursday. The teenager was released into the custody of relatives, pending a probable cause hearing. The date for that has not been set. Authorities say the girl gave birth to twins in her bathtub in December and then threw them out the bathroom window.
