A three-car accident Monday afternoon killed one person and sent two more to the hospital.
It occurred just South of Kinston on Highway 258 just before 3:00 p.m. Highway Patrol Troopers say 47-year-old Sharron Williams of Jacksonville was killed after her vehicle rear ended another car. The second vehicle was pushed into another vehicle.
Rescuers used the Jaws of Life to remove two women traveling in that car. They were airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital where they're listed in stable condition.
