Organizers of a memorial project updated Jacksonville's city council on plans for what many are calling the "glass wall." It will be situated near the Beirut Memorial, and a new 9/11 memorial, a huge steel beam from one of the World Trade Centers that's being set up in Jacksonville.
The Vietnam Wall will be lighted, backed by a 600 foot reflecting pool, and carry the names of more than 58,000 Americans killed in that war.
Phase one of the memorial's construction could begin later this year. It may take $4 million to finish that new memorial project.
