Greg Defelice says his charter group and others spotted a pod of killer whales while fishing for tuna. He says after hooking a blue fin, the orcas started hunting his catch.
"The whole pod comes in from the starboard side of the boat and we saw all of them take a real deep breath and dive down deep. They started chasing this tuna fish. He pulled off another 200 yards of line or so.. the big bull had grabbed this 200+ pound candy and just made a meal of it," said Defelice
Defelice says he snapped the line as close as he could to the whale. He says he never felt like he or the whales were in any danger from one another.
