Bad news for those looking for work in Rocky Mount, for the second month in a row that area leads the state with the highest unemployment numbers.
Figures out Wednesday from the North Carolina Employment Security Commission show the Rocky Mount metro area had an unemployment rate in October of 5.9%, up from 5.7% in September.
The next highest metro area was Hickory at 5.8%.

Goldsboro - 4.6%
Greenville - 4.8%
Jacksonville - 4.3%
Statewide the unemployment rate was 4.6%.
