Military Competition for High Schoolers

Nine high schools with dozens of their warriors in training hit the fields in Pitt County for the Annual ROTC Raider Competition.

This year ROTC Eastern-County Competition was held at DH Conley High School, where students competed in the most strenuous, mentally and physically demanding tests the ROTC organization had to offer. Students were tested on rope-bridging, first-aid, even a 5K cross country run was on the itinerary. Senior ROTC instructors tell us they push these students to push themselves for the good of their groups, and they help them learn individual leadership and team work.

The winning reward was that first, second and third overall winning units were awarded both ribbons and trophies for their efforts.
