Regular ferry commuters say they're breathing a sigh of relief now that ferries are up and running again from Minnesott Beach in Pamlico County to Cherry Branch in Craven County.

The run was shutdown on October 24 after one of the ferries ran into the vehicle loading area causing damage to the dock. Ferry officials say the dock has been repaired and Thursday morning ferries began running their regular schedule.

Officials say the U.S. Coast Guard is still investigating the incident. No word on the cause of the accident.
