According to travel agent Janet Horton, things to consider when booking your flight include the day of the week you leave and return home, the time of day, the airport and whether or not it's a non-stop flight. Horton says flexibility is also key to finding a cheap flight, especially on the Internet.
Another option to finding a deal on airfare is to consult a travel agent. Horton says they often have access to discount rates that the general public cannot get through travel Web sites.
