Reality TV's latest hit may just be in a Greene County classroom. It's called "Tele-Education," and it's part of a joint venture between East Carolina University's College of Education and Greene County schools.
Students studying to become teachers at ECU have the chance to observe classes at Greene County Middle school in real time through audio and video equipment in the classroom. Organizer Doctor Mark L'Esperance says this project allows potential teachers to discuss classroom happenings as they occur.
Organizers say Greene County Middle school was chosen because of its rural setting and some students' low socio-economic status.
