A state of the art bio-terrorism lab opened Thursday on the grounds of the Pitt County Health Department. The facility and its equipment were purchased through a federal homeland security grant.
The lab features high tech laboratory equipment capable of testing for and helping stop the spread of potentially lethal diseases. Doctor John Morrow, Pitt County Health Director, says the new facility brings Pitt County up to par with the rest of the state.
