Tuesday was canvassing day for Board of Elections all across our state. But one commissioner's race in Craven County is paying close attention to the final numbers. District Five Commissioner Democrat Leon Staton and challenger Republican Anthony Michalek now know the unofficial results of their race.

The Craven County Board of Elections has told WITN Commissioner Staton remains in the lead by 123 votes. The totals will remain unofficial until the board can meet at another time to discuss Mr. Michalek's latest election protest concerning vote totals and other Election Day problems.
