Provisional ballots are making waves for unofficial candidates, this time things are heating up for a Beaufort County Commissioner seat.

Joel Turner, Etles Henries, and Stan Deatherage, three top candidates vying to replace a county commissioner seat vacated in August, are now waiting for more than 300 provisional ballots to be counted to determine a clear winner. With the candidates running a tight race with only a one percent margin between the top two competitors, Republican Stan Deatherage, the candidate leading with only 52 votes, says provisional ballots could make all the difference.

Provisional ballot totals will be made public on canvassing day, which is Tuesday.
