Authorities say a prisoner has escaped from a Greene County prison but that he had less than 2 months left in his sentence. Greene Correctional Institution officials say 41 year old Larry Shumate just climbed the fence and entered the woods behind the facility. Authorities say that tracking dogs have picked up Shumate's scent and are trailing him. Shumate was only serving a four month sentence for misdemeanor driving while his license was revoked and was scheduled to be released January 3rd.
