Communications Nightmare Is Over

The communications nightmare in northeastern North Carolina is over. Sprint says they're working to make sure it never happens again.

A power outage at the Sprint switching station in Williamston knocked out phone service, including 9-1-1, to 18 counties at one point Thursday.

Sprint said they gradually restored power and everything is in working order again.

Now officials say they are investigating what caused the power outage to prevent this phone crisis from happening again.
