The holidays are incredibly busy time of year. There are Thanksgiving dinners to prepare, parties to plan, and Christmas to shop for. That could add up to less sleep for some. Less sleep could lead to danger on the road.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is reminding drivers to be well-rested before they start driving.
NCDOT says these groups are the most likely to be fatigued behind the wheel: young people (especially men, who feel they can push themselves harder), adults with young children, shift workers and people with sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy and insomnia.
